I work at a hospital as a patient transporter and some of the ER techs I know always talk about how they have come to the realization that they want to become a nurse after working as an er tech. They told me that there really isn't much of a difference between an er nurse and an er tech aside from pushing some medications ER tech:11.40. Er medic: 16.50. Night shift add 1 dollar. Weekend add 1 dollar. After 3 pm add 40 cents. Crisis pay add 10 bucks to medic wages plus shift differentials. I liked it better than private ambulances. Less drama with the nurses than EMTs.
